The Artist
I am a professionally trained Makeup artist. I studied at The School of Makeup Artist in Toronto, Ontario in 2005 and received a diploma in Makeup and Fashion Image.
I was trained for period makeup, fantasy makeup, advanced application for color and black and white Photography, bridal makeup, glamor makeup, theatre makeup, makeup for film/television,
airbrush makeup applications and runway makeup applications.
I randomly stumbled across this program while walking down a street in Toronto. I was in deep discussion with a friend about an esthetician program in Toronto that I was thinking of enrolling in. While we were walking down the street a man stepped in front of us almost tripping me, as I stepped back I noticed the man set down a sign that simply stated, New Makeup Artistry Program for Film and Television : now accepting applications. Born and raised on Prince Edward Island, I never thought I would have an opportunity to work in the hub of fashion and television! I immediately went in and applied to the program, luckily for me I got the last seat available.
I have had the opportunity to be a part of Runway shows in both Toronto and Charlottetown, the Key Makeup Artist for the film, "Do you remember?", Character makeup for the Toronto Santa Claus Parade, promotional print for Rodd Hotels and Resorts and Tourism PEI, head shot of Heather Wilson for the cover of her book "Your life according to you!" and numerous photo shoots.
Something so spontaneous turned into a passion that I didn't realize I had. I now have the opportunity to say that I am one of the very few people on earth that loves what they do.
